LES MARQUISES, groupe-collectif franco-américain (Lyon-Austin) tire son nom de l’archipel d’iles le plus éloigné de tout continent, et fait référence au morceau éponyme de Jacques Brel. Le projet est créé et mené par Jean-Sébastien Nouveau (Immune, Recorded Home, Colo Colo), accompagné de l’américain Jordan Geiger (Minus Story, Shearwater, Hospital Ships) au chant, et du multi-instrumentiste Jonathan Grandcollot (Pan Pan Pan, Robe Et Manteau). D’autres musiciens-amis sont venus se greffer à la réalisation de l’album.

La conception et l’élaboration de l’album LOST LOST LOST ont été inspirées par l’œuvre de l’artiste américain Henry Darger (1892-1973) auteur de Realms Of The Unreal, une sorte de bande dessinée homérique en 13 volumes, faite de grandes aquarelles naïves et hallucinées. En 6 titres hypnotiques, alternant des plages de fracas sonore et de calme relatif, LOST LOST LOST délivre une musique dense et contemplative, en perpétuelle ébullition, qui rappelle les fantômes de Third Eye Foundation, Can, ou encore Moondog.
